I will always remember the brothers reminiscing together about their childhood and relishing the old favourite stories being repeated. I loved it recently when we came to visit and Uncle Dave told the story about his grandma and grandads boat in Burnham and how as a boy in the war they smuggled him into it early in the morning. The way he described it I could imagine every detail and it was as if it had only happened the other day. He made it sound so exciting and a real adventure. I was also amazed at the stories about when the house was bombed and what that was like for them as children. We will miss you. Lots of love to you all, I loved how special you made his celebration, it was so personal and thoughtful, he will be so proud x

Dave was one of my teachers at King’s Lynn College back in the Eighties. He was always an inspirational guy who made the subject interesting, even when the maths started to get difficult. l was very happy to see that he was still teaching when I first came into the National Construction College as a teacher myself. He was then one of my mentors that helped me to develop my own teaching skills.
I am so sorry that i cannot be there today to send you on your way. You will forever be a great loss to us all. Rest in peace old friend.
I remember our family trips to norfolk to see ‘the brothers’ a long trip but such a happy time. Uncle david was always there set up and ready to go, playing with my cousins at camp sites. David, reggie, doug, mark and don. Uncle David had an incredible journey through life, and while i wish that i had been able to connect more i know that he was incredibly lioved.
I’ll miss you forever Dad. You were simply the best I could ask for and your love and advice will last me the rest of my life. I am forever grateful for having you and I hope we all made you happy and proud. Love you my Daddy. God bless, Helbels, Ron, Jessica and Harry xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
